Reactivation of a Registration

This message was prepared for Registrants by the Registration Unit of the Office of the Commissioner of Lobbying

* New Functionality – Reactivation of a registration and associated benefits *

The new Lobbyists Registration System (LRS) offers numerous functionalities intended to facilitate the declaration of lobbying activities. We want to draw your attention to one of these functionalities.

Please look over the list of your earlier registrations before submitting a new declaration.

What is involved in reactivating a registration?

LRS enables registrants to reactivate earlier registrations by updating their contents.

Benefits of reactivation

Reactivation of a registration has several benefits, including:

  • Time savings, as the contents of the earlier registration are updated and you need not make a new declaration.
  • Avoids duplicate declarations.
  • A simpler, quicker, more efficient way of having your declarations processed promptly to comply with the Act and the Lobbyists’ Code of Conduct.

How do I reactivate a registration?

  • Go to the web page of the Office of the Commissioner of Lobbying at www.cal-ocl.gc.ca.
  • Click Login at top right.
  • Enter your username and password.
  • Click the Earlier Activities tab.
  • Choose the earlier registration you wish to reactivate by clicking it.
  • Review and update eachsection of the registration, then click the Save and Continue button.

Note:  To reactivate the registration, it is mandatory to thoroughly review all sections and make changes where necessary.

At the end of the last stage, click Certify and Submit.
The certification page of the declaration is displayed. Read the instructions carefully, then check the certification boxes.
Then click Certify.
The page confirming that the certification has been sent is displayed.
Print that page and keep it for your files.
