Linking a Registrant Account with a Representative Account

This message was prepared for Registrants by the Registration Unit of the Office of the Commissioner of Lobbying

* New Feature – Linking a Registrant Account with a Representative Account *

The new Lobbyists Registration System (LRS) contains many new features designed for facilitating the submission of disclosures for the registration of lobbying activities. We would like to draw your attention to one of those.

In order to speed up the submission of disclosures, Registrants who are assisted by an internal or external Representative can link their LRS account to the LRS account of that Representative. This new feature will allow one or more of your Representatives to access your registrations via their own LRS account. Representatives Accounts provide a more efficient means of managing your registrations and your monthly communications reports. Please note, however, that you will still be responsible for certifying and submitting your disclosures using your username and password.

We highly recommend that your authorized representatives follow the steps below to open a "Representative" type account and to link it to your own account:

Step 1 - Account Creation:

1. Go to the web site www.ocl-cal.gc.ca

2. In the menu on the left, click on "Registry of Lobbyists"

3. Click on "Login"

4. Click on "Create Account" from the left-hand side menu.

5. Select the "Representative" type account and fill in all required information.

Step 2 - Link Representative Account To Your Own Account:

  1. Login to your account using your username and password. Then:
  2. Select "Account Profile" from the left-hand side menu.
  3. Click on the "Add Representative" button at the bottom of the screen and type in your authorized representative account number.
  4. Then click on "Add" and then "Save".
