First registration update due August 15, 2008

This message was prepared for Registrants by the Registration Unit of the Office of the Commissioner of Lobbying

*REMINDER: First registration update due August 15, 2008*

If you did not get a chance to familiarize yourself with the new filing requirements of the Lobbying Act, please note that all active registrations must be updated by August 15, 2008. This applies whether or not you have any communications with Designated Public Office Holders to report for the month of July.

If you have not already done so, please review and update every section of your registrations by following the steps below:

1. Go to the website www.ocl-cal.gc.ca
2. In the menu on the left, click on "Registry of Lobbyists"
3. Click on "Login"
4. Login with your username and password
5. From the "Current Activities" tab of your Registrant Dashboard, click on the link of the status of the registration you wish to update.
6. Review each section and update if required.
7. Finally, certify and submit your updated disclosure. Please note that the certification password has been replaced by your login password.

For your convenience, please note that the Office of the Commissioner of Lobbying has prepared a series of multimedia tutorials to guide you through the registration process. For instance, Registrants who have used the previous version of the Lobbyists Registration System to record the details of their public offices held (POH) are required to migrate their existing POH data into the new format to comply with the requirements of the Lobbying Act. In order to guide you through the migration of your existing POH data, you may wish to consult the tutorial named “Migrating POH Information” by clicking here.
